Since it is 2 Star hotel the room price is reasonable. The people at the reception desk are extremly friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and practically furnished. Free parking is also a privalage of the hotel.
The bed was comfortable. I like access to Panera as well
Some of the front desk employees were a little immature. One night time employee was somewhat rude.
The location of the hotel is great. It is near to at least 3 universities: University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University and Carlow University. We had our breakfast at Panera which is connected to the hotel. Unfortunately, the restaurant (Panera) is open only until 9:00 P.m, that means no more food after that time. Considering the location and the price I would stay in this hotel again.
No restaurant./cafeteria or room service after 9:00 P.M.
I like the room and the price is very good. Hotel van also help me much on getting around Pittsburgh.
Great proximity to Oakland downtown area for shopping & eateries. Large clean comfortable rooms; excellent value for money! There is a bakery conveniently situated on groun floor so if you're feeling too lazy to make the 10min walk to town; this can cater for breakfast, lunch and dinner at extremely affordable prices.
The carpark was undergoing construction works during my stay. I woke up one morning when they were repouring the bitumen practically suffocating in the fumes and a nice scratch sore throat. Even through I was up on the fifth floor, it was very strong smell. I couldn't use the room for the remainder of the day even though I had planned on resting. When I complained to the staff, none were all to helpful about the situation. I wasn't moved to an alternative room and nor was I compensated. That said, I found half of the reception staff fantastic, the other half just lacked any customer relation skills.
shuttle service, pantera restaurant, location
front desk personnel was very rude at check in
That I call down to complain about serious filth and cleanliness and they upgraded me to penthouse free of charges and there it was clean and nice.
The cleanliness of my first room with queen bed was dirty and just awful
I was just for one night for an interview at U of Pittsburgh. The hotel is close to it and it is easy to take a walk to. Very convenient. The internet wi fi signal in the room was pretty good. Another ad is there is a Panera just beside the hotel.
Rooms communicate with the next one by a door, so it would be hard to take a rest or to sleep if neighbors are talking so load or if there are kids beside.
Convenience to gateway clipper.
No ice. People filled their coolers up. Allbice machines were empty. Staff was young and really helpful with getting me a taxi. Hall ways really noisy after 2am.
Location and nearness to bus into city
Lack of taxi service. Took us half hour to get a cab when leaving at 6 am. Only 2 cab companies in city.
Quality Inn University Center is located close to CMU and Pittsburgh University. there is a free shuttle to bring and fetch you from CMU student centre, very convenience.
the staff has poor working attitude and unhelpful.
This was an old hotel. However, it was clean. The staff was very nice and accommodating in every request. When I arrived at the hotel the room was not what I had thought I was getting. They quickly made the necessary changes. I also had my 83 yr old mother with who need a wheel chair. Not only did they address my request on where I could rent one, they let me use the hotel chair for my 3 day stay at no cost. While I was not overly excited before I went on this trip (having stayed in the area before) I was very satisfied. A clean place to stay was more important to me than new that did not really fit in my price range.
There was no pool (and I had a 13 year old with me who could have used that break) and that the first room I was given was smoking- which could not be masked or hidden for a non-smoker.
An old hotel - no place to eat or have a drink close by or in the hotel. We wish it had a pool also. Not as close to PNC park as we would have liked to be but the cost was affordable.
They provide shuttle services to CMU every hour.
A bit far away from the main road. You need to walk 10 min to find some restaurants, although there is one cafe on ground floor of this hotel.
The staff was very helpful with the local area, room was very quite even being just one level off the street, and the Panera Bread in teh same building was great!
A power strip for pluggin in computer, phone, etc, would have been very helpful.
